Unlike your conventional time tracking application, which serves one purpose (to track time), TimeCamp can take the place of more than just time tracking. time management, attendance tracking, and so much more.

TimeCamp offers everything competing time tracking sites offer, plus a host of features such as billable hours vs non-billable hours, project status, invoicing. It even offers assistance to set you up with more advanced settings and features, at no cost to you. From the moment you register, a setup wizard initiates a process to get you setup for your first time use. They have an emphasis on user experience and it shows. Registering for TimeCamp is free, and you get to use some of its core features for free. TimeCamp is everything you ever wanted in time tracking, and a whole lot more you never thought you needed or could use. They offer discounts for paying yearly versus monthly. You can change subscription levels as needed, so you can start at the lower levels and increase as needed, including number of users. Even at it highest subscription level, the costs are amazingly low for all it has to offer. TimeCamp took time tracking and everything around it quite seriously and spent a great deal of its development into providing powerful features into its application. It's UI is not filled with the typical "eye candy" some sites have as a means to hook you into their product. It would be nice to have the possibility to switch projects or creates new ones directly from there.Ĭomments: TimeCamp is very straight forward and powerful. I have tried the Desktop time tracker, which is a nice idea but you are not able to do many things from the widget so you will often have to come back to the website. The tool is very user friendly and can be set up just in a few minutes.

The Dashboard allows you to be updated very fast Reports are are very complete and have many options to filter and present the data you need. It is not only possible to track projects but idle time and attendance. It is also possible to allocate just some of the team members to a project. It allows you to have multiple seats with different permissions and create multiple projects that can be divided in tasks. TimeCamp allows you to track the time spent on a project by an employee. Other similar tools are very restrictive with their features during this period.

I fist tried the trial version of this program which is long enough (30 days) and offers a very good overview of all the features of the tool and how much they can be useful (even when you have not consider them before!). With TimeCamp we are capable to understand exactly which part of the project require more time so we can find a solution and also the saturation of the team so we can distribute workload in a fair basis. See my other AppTastic Tuesday reviews here.Comments: We have trying to manage better out time spent in projects and understanding which activities are causing delays or need improvement in order for the team to be more efficient.

Thanks to the makers of OfficeTime for giving me a download for the review. If you are the time tracking sort, and want a full-bodied way to keep track on the go, OfficeTime officially rates the Words on the Word title of AppTastic.

The paid iOS version is $7.99 and works on both iPhone and iPad.

OfficeTime has a free Mac trial version, and a free iOS version to try here. The lack of a full-bodied sync option hasn’t really stopped me, though, since I can keep all the data on my phone and then sync with my work computer when I’m in the office. I’ll post more in a future review about the desktop app, and also report back on exporting features. That is one of the few drawbacks I’ve found in OfficeTime. Similarly, the iPad app can sync to a computer (and vice versa), but the data cannot sync automatically between iPad and iPhone apps. The iPhone app can sync automatically to the desktop version of OfficeTime, though you have to actually be on the same wireless network to do it. Not only can you look at all your time entries in a week by Project and Category, but you can see (as below) a virtual Timesheet of your week. “Notes” allows you to write more details about what task you’re working on. Pulling up a new time/task entry is easy: I don’t use the Expenses feature of the app, but if you were a sub-contracting consultant keeping track of work for multiple clients, OfficeTime would be immensely helpful in tracking billing. You can set up your Projects and Categories (I use these as two levels of task grouping), and tap on each to see how much time you’ve spent in a certain part of your work.

It is simple, fast, effective, and easy to get in and out of quickly to start tracking time and get right back to work. The best iPhone time tracker I’ve seen is OfficeTime.
